Hello! My name is Andrea Dembeck. I am a Danville native and SJS alumni. SJS holds a special place in my heart, as I have so many fond memories of my elementary school days. I graduated from St. Bonaventure University with a BS in Elementary Education and Johns Hopkins University with a MS in Reading. This will be my 14th year teaching. I taught for 10 years in Maryland public schools and for a brief time at a charter school in Syracuse, NY. I have taught 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades.
My husband and I have been married for 15 years and I am a mom to 4 little ones. I took 8 years off from teaching so I could stay home and care for them. This is my third year back teaching and I couldn’t be happier teaching kindergarten at SJS.
I love spending as much time as I can outdoors with my husband and kids. I also enjoy cooking, baking, and gardening.
I believe all children should grow and learn in a positive learning environment, where relationships are built on trust, joy, kindness, and respect. I want my students to become curious learners and creative thinkers through play and active classroom involvement.
