About Your Teacher

Hello! My name is Mrs. Neidig and I will be your child's Kindergarten teacher at St. Joseph School. I graduated from Kutztown University with my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Reading. I have taught Preschool for the past three years and I am very much looking forward to this new age group of kids as Kindergarten and 1st grade are my favorite age group of learners! Our classroom will have a heavy academic focus, but also incorporate purposeful play daily, as children at this age learn best through play.

Homework

Homework will be given out on Monday and Wednesday as we start the school year and adjust to Kindergarten. We will work our way up to Monday - Thursday homework til we reach the end of the school.

Please check ParentSquare daily for your child's homework assignments.

Behavior chart

While the older grades at St. Joseph record their daily behavior chart color in their agenda at the end of each day, Kindergarten will not, as we are just practicing writing and we do not use agendas! As you talk to your child about school at the end of each day please don't forget to ask them about where their clothespin landed for the day! While I would never ask you to punish your child at home as a result of their behavior, it is important to help your child reflect and celebrate their successes!

Our behavior chart looks like this:

 Outstanding
